Basics of Chromogenic Printing
In this brief introductory workshop of two-four hour sessions, students will be introduced to the basics of chromogenic printing with color negatives and the RA4 printing process. The course will begin with an in-depth explanation of subtractive color theory and will quickly move on to a hands-on demonstration in which students will print on the first day. The second day will be devoted entirely to printing. Students must already be familiar with use of a photographic enlarger and black and white darkroom printing. Students must also come prepared with processed color negatives. The formats of 35mm, 120 and 4x5 will be supported. Students should expect to take away 4-5 prints at size 11x14 each from this workshop.
