ARTISTIC PROJECTS / DEVELOP YOUR PORTFOLIO

Harvey Milk Photo Center Fall 2016 Term

Artistic Projects / Develop Your Portfolio

Description:

This course will explore the final editing and presentation of a photographic body of work. Do you have a project that is nearing completion, ready for the final cuts and exhibition? In this class, students will bring in the photographs they have made as part of an ongoing project, and then edit them down to the strongest, most effective body of work. The workshop will include a critique and discussion of the choices made for the materials and contextual cues in displaying the finished product. Also included will be talks about portfolios and framing, as well as photo books as means of displaying the project.

Note: The class is for students with an existing catalog of work looking to edit their photos for presentation. There will be little to no shooting involved, unless the critique sparks additional work. *Materials Requirements: bring photographs, matting, framing, and portfolio supplies if applicable. Bring your favorite photo books to view and discuss.
