Golden Gate Park 150th Anniversary Exhibit

To me there are two kinds of fantasy. One is so absolute it instantly kills any hope of its realization. The other is just as beautiful, but it’s flawed. We can see ourselves in it — as human beings we are far from ever being perfect. When our imperfection fuels the desire to reach for new heights we constantly reborn ourselves as a better species.

For every photograph I make, I try to create an achievable fantasy. This is not to say every frame needs to be picture-perfect but they must invoke a sense of desire — the desire to travel, to learn, and to be a better person — whatever one’s definition of “better” is.
