FACULTY PROFILE: PAULA LYCAN
Through traditional black and white darkroom photography and alternative photographic processes, Paula questions gender stereotypes and seeks further representation of queer bodies through both traditional portraiture and more abstracted figures and emotional landscapes. Gaining her Bachelor’s in Fine Art with a focus in photography from UC Santa Cruz, and since being an active member of several community darkrooms around the country, Paula continues to explore and push the boundaries of analog photography. She is currently based in the Bay Area of California and works at the Harvey Milk Photo Center.
