Exploring the streets from the Marina to Excelsior, from the Embarcadero to Outer Sunset, the photographers of the SF Street Photography Group have accepted this challenge with a passion. Many have spent years documenting the lives of everyday people throughout the 49 square miles we call San Francisco.
Our Annual Staff, Members & Volunteers Exhibit portrays a current look at what is being created in our Darkrooms and Digital Labs here at the Harvey Milk Photo Center, by our Staff members and Volunteers.
These photographs are a select few from a body of work titled ‘Architectural Abstractions’. Drawing inspirations from the work of fiction – The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, and from the photographic works of Ezra Stoller and Balthazar Korab, Josyula seeks to represent the soul of the modern and post-modern built structure.
“The Art of Fire” comprises photographs of San Francisco Fire Department’s ﬁreﬁghters engaged in ﬁghting the beast that is ﬁre. This collaborative exhibition features work from photographers who’ve captured striking images that put the viewer on the ﬁrehose alongside ﬁreﬁghters in the ﬁght to save lives and property.
The exhibit will focus on a historic body of exciting and iconic photographs showcasing “Gay Pride”, as well as include contemporary photographs from both bay area LGBT Youth and LGBT Seniors.
