What Makes a Successful Image?

Description:

This is an introductory course to photography where students will learn about historical and contemporary photographs and practices. Time will be spent discussing the various elements that make up a photograph including the physical, depictive, and mental levels. Students will be encouraged to bring in their own work for critique and comparison.

*Prerequisite: It is recommended to purchase Stephen Shore’s “Nature of Photography” text to pair with this course.
