Exploring Composition


Exploring composition through still life, portrait and landscape. In this course we will explore the ingredients that make up great photographs through the topics of Still Life, Portrait and Landscape. We will look at and discuss the photographs of some of the greatest photographers of the 20th and 21st century, to give inspiration in facilitating your own ideas and vision. Composition is an important tool to master in making photographs communicate visually. Lectures and weekly assignments will be given to assist each photographer in understanding the relationship between composition, lighting, F-stops and shutter speeds. Assignments will be given in black and white and color. SLR and DSLR cameras are welcome. Point and shoot cameras are not acceptable for this course. Come and explore your creativity in this course and you will walk away with a wealth of knowledge on how to make photographs that are uniquely yours! It’s not just about looking but also seeing!
