Digital SLR Camera – Level 2

Description:

What makes a portrait compelling? Above all, it’s about developing your own unique way of seeing. This course will give you the opportunity of working in different surroundings and situations. Students will work with each other as models to explore the many levels of portraiture in black and white and in color. We will observe the essence of environment and subject through composition, metaphor and relationships using natural light and flash as fill in light. Our final class will meet at the photo center to look at and critique work. All photographs must be printed out and ready for presentation. Must know how your camera works and be familiar with all of its functions such as f-stops and shutter speeds. Prerequisite: Camera proficiency required. Equipment to bring: Flash and lenses; SLR or DSLR; no point and shoot camera, or iPhones. Wear good walking shoes, bring water and a bite to eat.
